Frequently asked questions
Can I transfer my deferred LGPS benefits to my new pension provider?
11:46, 03 Mar 2008Your benefits can be transferred to another employer’s scheme, a Personal Pension Plan, Section 32 Buy Out Bond or to a New Style Self Employed Pension arrangement. You cannot however, transfer your benefits if you leave less than one year before age 65. Please note, that some schemes will not accept a transfer value.
You may wish to take independent financial advice when making this decision.
Next Steps: Ask your new pension scheme administrators if they allow transfers and then contact the Pensions office, details of which can be found on the Contacting us page, with their details including their address and contact information. Alternatively, your new scheme administrators can contact us directly.
