Transferring in service

The Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations (LGPS) do not allow the transfer of previous pension rights into the LGPS from any other pension scheme or local authority pension fund, for councillor members.

Councillors can only transfer previous pension rights as a councillor within the same fund in the LGPS and must do so within one year of re-joining, unless your council allows you longer, or your benefits will remain separate
