Procedure for employer estimate requests
There may be a need for you, as an employer, to request a benefit estimate for a member of the Local Government Pension Scheme, who works for your organisation, for one of the following reasons:- Efficiency
- Employers consent
- Ill-health
- Redundancy
To help you to meet any deadlines, our procedure prioritises employer estimates according to their urgency. We aim to provide you with the information you require within the timescales shown, below:
- Priority 1* - 5 working days
- Priority 2 - 10 working days
- Priority 3 - 20 working days
* Priority 1 requests must be authorised by a senior Human Resources Officer or an appropriate nominated officer within the organisation. This priority request must only be used where the proposed date of termination for the officer is within 3 months of the estimate submission date.
Each estimate request must be completed on one of the following Microsoft Word forms:

Once completed, the estimate form should be sent by e-mail to hrsectpensions@nottscc.gov.uk
Points to note:
- Each request must have a priority assigned to it
- In all Redundancy/Efficiency cases, augmented service of one year will be quoted together with the strain cost on the letter sent to the employer
- Under no circumstances should the estimate letter provided by the Pensions Office, be either copied to or sent directly to the employee, as it is for the use of the respective Human Resources Section only.
