Governance
Introduction
The Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) in Nottinghamshire is administered by Nottinghamshire County Council. The administering of the pension funds is delegated to the Pensions Committee and is expressly excluded from the delegation of authority to the Cabinet. The LGPS regulations require to administering authority to publish a Governance Compliance Statement which can be found on the Fund policies page

The Pensions Committee
The Pensions Committee has 11 members and meets four times a year. and is responsible for:- administering the pension funds
- investing the pension funds
- managing the pension funds.

There are two sub-committees that help the Pension Committee to fulfill its function:
Administration Sub-Committee.
This is an advisory committee with 19 members, of which 11 are County Councillors, and 2 members are elected pensioners. This committee makes recommendations to the Pensions Committee on all matters relating to the regulation of and admission to the pension scheme including all matters relating to beneficiaries. Investment Sub-Committee
This is an advisory committee with 19 members, 11 of which are County Councillors, which makes recommendations to the Pensions Committee on all matters relating to the investment of the pension funds.
