Retirement through redundancy or efficiency

In the event of you being retired by your employer by reason of redundancy or efficiency of the service, if you are aged 55 or over and have at least three months total membership in the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) or have brought a transfer value into the LGPS, you will be entitled to the immediate unreduced payment of your LGPS benefits.

Augmentation of membership

Your employer may grant you augmented membership on retirement.

You should ask your Personnel/Human Resources department for details of your employer's policy regarding augmented membership.
